California LULAC

Welcome TO California LULAC

Know Your Rights - Conozca sus derechos

The U.S. Constitution guarantees fundamental rights to everyone, regardless of immigration status. It is crucial to know your rights, stand firm, and not be intimidated.

If you encounter ICE or law enforcement—at home, in public, or anywhere else—remember that you have legal protections. California LULAC is committed to defending the rights and dignity of all individuals, both documented and undocumented. Our councils work tirelessly to ensure that no one’s rights are violated and that every member of our community is treated with respect.

Conozca Sus Derechos.

El Escudo: Immigrant Rights and Resources Toolkit

El Pueblo Unido: A Resource Guide for Community Leaders

Inspired by the powerful chant ¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!, this guide provides important information for community leaders—including hospital administrators, school officials, religious leaders, and business owners—to help them understand their rights and push back against ICE and CBP overreach. This is particularly urgent given the Department of Homeland Security’s recent rescission of the Sensitive Locations policy, which now allows immigration enforcement actions in schools, hospitals, and places of worship.

2025 ICE GUIDE

The purpose of this Guide is to provide LULAC members and other like-minded pro-immigrant activists with advice and information to address the invidious anti-immigrant actions of the Trump Administration and its Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agency in our immigrant communities. Many of the provisions cited in this guide are applicable in other states across the nation.

Red Cards / Tarjetas Rojas

Red Cards / Tarjetas Rojas

All people in the United States, regardless of immigration status, have certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. The ILRC’s Red Cards help people assert their rights and defend themselves in many situations, such as when ICE agents go to a home.
